Capital Credits
As a cooperative, members receive a yearly capital credit as voted on by Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors. This capital credit is applied to their statement.
Capital credits are revenue above what it takes to operate the cooperative. For example, in April 2023, Bluebonnet’s Board approved to return $5.69 million in capital credits to members, applied to their May 2023 statement. This was an increase of $500,000 from 2022.
