City of Austin Noise Ordinance
Chapter 9-2 of the City of Austin Codes and Ordinances states that a person cannot make unreasonable noise between the hours of 10:30 PM and 7 AM. This includes making sound or vibration more than 30 feet from a vehicle.
Construction Days & Hours
According to the Master Covenant, Community Documents & Guidelines (VIII Erosion Control and Construction Regulations, Section C) construction days and hours are :
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Saturdays and Sundays 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Holidays
No construction can occur on:
- New Year’s Day
- Easter
- Memorial Day
- July 14th
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Waivers
Waivers can be provided for the pouring of concrete slabs during the summer months.
Construction noise complaints
Along with calling the Travis County Sheriffs Office non-emergency phone line, complaints for noise or operating outside the provisioned days and hours, take pictures, and submit the construction address to eastonpark@dmbcommunitylife.com. Builders can be fined for non-compliance.
