Brookfield Residential and Cohere announced that Easton Park would be expanding by an additional 800 acres.
Press Release
On February 16th, 2021, it was announced that Brookfield had expanded to over 2,300+ acres, almost doubling the amount of land for the development.
Easton Park’s first neighborhood, Bryant Park, opened in 2017, and since then we’ve been building something really special here in Southeast Austin. While growth has always been part of our master plan, it’s a responsibility we take very seriously – we know that every expansion must protect and bolster the amazing spirit of our community. With that mandate in mind, we’re excited to share some big news: we’re now beginning the planning and development on additional acreage we own south of Easton Park. This will allow us to grow our completed community by an additional 800 acres, bringing the total size of Easton Park to 2,300+ acres.
This parcel is located south of Kieke Park and north of Sassman Road, and will expand the southern boundary of Easton Park. The project will include the extension of E. Slaughter Lane to US Hwy 183. It is likely that development of the roadway won’t start until 2024 at the earliest, with the first homesites available after that. Naturally, this timing is may change depending on market forces, permitting, and roadway construction.
Upon completion, we anticipate the new acreage to have approximately 3,000 to 4,000 additional homesites, a public school, retail spaces, and additional resident amenities. Not only will all of the Easton Park communities be connected by roadways, but also via trails and green spaces. While we don’t have many details confirmed at this time, know that we plan to continue the great work we’ve done, and we’ll continue to consider the needs and input of the community as we develop this new section. We’ll share more information as it’s available in the coming months. We’re excited to get going!
At the June 2nd, 2021 Town Hall, development illustrations were shared showing some of the updates to the master plan. Shared illustrations show the plan for the expansion and how the expansion fits within the great Easton Park plan.
